Baytril® 100 (enrofloxacin) Injectable for Swine

Baytril® 100 for swine respiratory disease (SRD) treatment and control is a sterile, ready-to-use injectable antimicrobial solution that contains enrofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antimicrobial agent.

First. Baytril® 100 (enrofloxacin) Injectable for Swine is the first single-dose fluoroquinolone FDA-approved for the treatment and control of swine respiratory disease (SRD) and for the control of colibacillosis in groups or pens of weaned pigs where colibacillosis associated with E. coli has been diagnosed.

Six major BRD pathogens. Baytril 100 has bactericidal activity against the key swine pathogens Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus parasuis and Streptococcus suis.

Intramuscular or subcutaneous. Baytril 100 provides flexibility in administration methods with either intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous injection in swine.

Dilution schedule for small pigs. Baytril 100 may be diluted with sterile water prior to injection in small pigs.

Bactericidal. Baytril 100 has a mode of action that actually kills the bacteria causing infection by destroying bacterial DNA and preventing bacterial replication.

Concentration-dependent. Baytril 100 is concentration-dependent, delivering effective therapeutic drug concentrations with a single dose.

Available in three convenient sizes. Baytril 100 lets you select the bottle size that best fits your needs. Look for it in the 100 mL, 250 mL and 500 mL amber glass bottles.

Federal law restricts Baytril 100 to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Extra-label use of Baytril 100 in food-producing animals is prohibited. A 5-day withdrawal is required in swine. The effects of enrofloxacin on cattle or swine reproductive performance, pregnancy and lactation have not been determined.
